Excluding some comparisons from post hoc tests

Hi,

I have very little statistical knowledge. I have collected some data from a study and am in the process of analysis this. I'm wondering if it is possible to exclude some data from post hoc analysis in Jasp.

In the example here I have 66 comparisons. Really though I only want to make the comparison of minute 15 to the other time points and I am not interested in the rest of the comparisons and so I only want to make 11 comparisons. Is there some way to do this?

Again here:

I have no interest in comparing PRE, lvl to POST, dh or POST, lvl to PRE dh and so really I only want to make 4 comparisons rather than 6. Can I do this?

I hope this makes sense, thanks in advance.

  • So I take it you cannot solve the problem by simply leaving out entire variables. But in general, if you know that you are only interested in particular comparisons, doesn't this mean you should be doing planned comparisons instead of post-hoc tests?
