Change preset variable inputs

Hello Folks,

Im new with OpenSesame and I really need your help. I try to run an already made psychological test. It is calles the BERT and can be found online for free. I use the german version and Im not sure if there is an english one yet. Now to my problem: The Experiment runs without problems. But I need to change a small thing. When you start the Experiment the first thing which pops up is the subject_nr. I already found out, that this is a basic OpenSesame variable. I just need to change the allowed inputs for the answer. Because at the moment you can only enter numbers, but I want to enter numbers and letters together. Because the people who take place in the experiment get a code instead of their name due to anonymity. And all my other data has this code and only the BERT Output not. So i I need to change every Dataset on its own in R for Dataanalysis, which sucks:D Maybe there is someone who can help me there:)

  • Hi,

Keep it simple. Use an inline_script in the beginning of the experiment and include code=raw_input() . Then when the experiment starts (after providing the subject number), you (not the participant), can type into the debug window the code which is then saved. Probably you need to bring the focus back into the experiment window by clicking on it, so that the participant can continue with the task.

Alternatively, you can load the codes from a file

    Hope this helps,

    Eduard
