If you are running an online experiment, also provide the browser version.

[PsychoPy / Expyriment / legacy / OSWeb]
You can find the backend under "General Properties / Run experiment".
Expected behavior
[e.g. "The experiment should play two sounds."]
Clearly explain what you would like to happen.
Actual behavior (what goes wrong)
[e.g. "The experiment only plays one sound."]
Clearly explain what happens, and in what way this deviates from what you would like to happen.
Error messages (if any)
[Error message here]
Copy-paste the full error message from the console output at the bottom of the OpenSesame window (for the desktop version) or from the browser console (for OSWeb). You can also attach a screenshot.
What did you try already?
[e.g. "I changed the backend, but it didn't help."]
Did you already reinstall OpenSesame, change the backend, check for similar issues on the forum, ask SigmundAI, or try anything else.?
Experiment file (optional)
Consider attaching attaching your .osexp file. If you do not want to share your experiment file, you can also attach a minimal version of the experiment that illustrates the issue.

Hello,
What is the console command to install the touch_response plugin in OpenSesame on a Windows PC ?
Thank you in advance,
Gérard
Hi @gerhono
As far as I know, the touch_response item should come pre-installed with OpenSesame. If you’re not seeing it in the list of available items, I’d suggest reinstalling the latest version of OpenSesame (you can find it here).
It should normally appear in the item toolbar, like this:
Hope this helps,
Claire

Hello Claire,
Thank you for your answer. I have designed a custom grid using the 'names' available in a sketchpad. That grid is encoded in an .xlsx file and the program works fine with a mouse. How can I make the touch response work in that setup ? When I touch the screen, the mouse arrow simply disappears and nothing else happens. I would like to avoid re-designing the whole experiment with the standard grid, it will not fit the image areas in the same way. The attached files show an example of image and the design of the grid.
Cheers,
Gérard
Hi @gerhono
I'm not sure why it isn't working as expected when you touch the screen, since mouse_response and touch_response should both work for touches and mouse clicks. Is it working if you double tap the screen instead? (if so, see this issue: touch response — Forum)
If not, feel free to share your experiment file (or a minimal version of it) so we can take a closer look.
Cheers,
Claire

Hello Claire,
Thank you for your reply. Because you stated that it should work, I have tested different aspects of the setup of the computer itself and I found that the touch screen did not respond because it was operating in expanded mode. It works fine in duplicate mode and I can cope with that.
So thank you again.
Gérard
Hello Claire,
For your information, I have continued to investigate about that problem and I found that it is possible to have the touch screen operate in expanded mode provided that a proper configuration is made via the configuration pannel of Windows, which contains a 'Son et matériel' (sound and equipment ?) section that is not visible in the usual configuration interface of Windows. A section is specifically devoted to the configuration of a "tablet" PC.
Beside that, I confirm that it is necessary to "double tap" the screen to obtain the same result as a single click with the mouse. I shall make additional testing with the built-in mousetrap feature, referring to the discussion that you mentionned.
Cheers,
Gérard
Hi @gerhono
