OpenSesame on OS Sierra 10.12.3

The latest version of OpenSesame is often crashing or not opening on my computer - has anyone had similar problems and found a solution?

  • Hi,

We are aware that the Mac OS packages don't work smoothly on some systems (hence the disclaimer on the download page).

Could you describe your problems in a bit more detail? When do the crashes occur? And what happens exactly if a crash occurs? This would help us improve things.

    Cheers,
    Sebastiaan

  • That is ok, thanks for your reply -- I read up on your comments and previous complaints, so now I am setting up my experiment on a windows desktop.

    Best,

  • Hi Mariana,
Could you still check one thing for me. If you go to OpenSesame's preferences, you see a section called Runner. Can you tell me what your current setting is there? If it is inprocess, does OpenSesame run more stable after you changed this setting to multiprocess?

  • Hi Daniel, sorry about the delay in answering. I gave up on opensesame on my MacBook quickly after running into problems, and I started building my experiment on a windows desktop ( also giving me problems with logging now). This week I will try again building it from scratch on my MacBook, and I will let you know. The settings are in process --I opened a sample experiment and it ran and finished, but the logger didn't open -- I will let you know more once I have tried more. Thanks!
