[open] Mantra Opensesame Expyriment & Pyaudio
Not sure where to post this exactly, but running the Distance Opensesame Example on Ubuntu 12.04, I noticed I had to update the Expyriment.py manually to make it work.
Also, not a big deal, but some icons are missing for me in OpenSesame running Ubuntu 12.04, and I am experiencing some issues with PyAudio (trying to access multiple soundsounds, different channels)- worked on Windows, but not here. Just some minor start-up issues I figure, hopefully I will figure them out myself. Just thought to keep things posted...

Thanks for sharing your experiences!
How did you initially install Expyriment initially? And did you see a specific error message?
Under preferences, you see a theme setting. If it's set to Gnome, it uses the gnome-icon-theme-full package, which is not installed by default under Ubuntu, but available in the repository. If it's set to Default, it uses the Faenza set, which is available through this external repository: https://launchpad.net/~webupd8team/+archive/themes
(Otherwise the missing icons are harmless.)
I'm afraid there's not much that I can say about that, because PyAudio is an entirely separate project. But you could always contact the developer if you don't manage to resolve the issues (I wouldn't normally recommend contacting the developer directly, but there doesn't appear to be an issue tracker or forum for PyAudio).
Btw, if you end up using PyAudio and have some timing benchmarks, please share! The PyGame sound back-end that is used at the moment is sub-optimal, so at some point it should be replaced by something better.

Sorry about the icon query, i hadn't noticed your clear warning on the install instructions yet...
I can't remember the error about Expyriment. Now I think of it, it could also have something to do with the update I did for the videocard. I took two steps at one...
Will keep you posted re: soundcards/ channels.
