Resolution Size for OSWeb
in OSWeb
I have an experiment in OpenSesame and I have changed the resolution from the default 1024x768. When I test-run my experiment in OSWeb, it doesn't all fit on the screen. Is there a specific resolution that needs to be used for OSWeb?

Hi,
The concept of a display resolution isn't applicable to OSWeb, because it will simply use the available space in the browser. The downside of this is that you do not have full control over how big stimuli are, because users can for example zoom in or out using the browser's zoom function. I would therefore be pragmatic in designing the experiment and choose stimuli of such a size that they generally look good when presented in a browser.

Hi,
so there is no way of "fixing" image sizes in for example centimeters, so they are always displayed in the same size regardless of browser window (and screen) size?
No, that level of control is not possible. One clever trick I've heard of is to let users perform some kind of matching procedure with an object of a known size, such as a credit card. So you could for example present a number of rectangles of different sizes and have participants indicate which size is closest to that of a credit card. But of course participants will still be able to (and some will do so) resize the browser window or zoom in or out.

Alright, thanks for that tip :)
