  • hi,

Thanks for the new version. Since the upgrade, I started getting error message upon finishing the experiment: "Log file: Unknown logfile".

the log file is saved and seems ok though. and the message is "The experiment finished successfully".

Opening the log file via the GUI doesn't work.

Any idea why this may happen?

    thank you

    Lena

  • Hi Lena,

Thanks for reporting this. It sounds like this information is simply not transferred from the experiment process to the GUI process. In principle that's harmless, but it shouldn't happen, so I'd like figure out what goes wrong. A few questions:

    • What operating system are you using?
    • Are you using the Python 2 or 3 package?
    • Do you have non-ascii characters (like ü ) in your file or folder names?

    Cheers!

    Sebastiaan

  • Hi Sebastiaan,

I am using windows 10, Python 3 and I don't seem to have any non-ascii characters in my file or folder names, all are pure English or punctuation, like '.' (dot) or '-' (dash).

I figured that it probably will not harm my logs, but still was a bit disturbing :) also, i wonder if it's only me..

    thank you,

    Lena

  • There seems to be an issue with the media_player_mpy extension. In line 139 it uses a unicode; however, this cannot be used in python 3, seems like it just wasn't updated with the update for Open Sesame.

    Thanks!

  • @amill66 You have posted this same question three times now! Please help us to keep the forum clean by post each question only once. I realize that it sometimes takes a while to get a reply, but reposting questions only increases the load on the forum, so that's not helpful at all!

  • Sorry, I just needed an answer to my question so we can get our experiment up and running as it is time sensitive. Do you have any idea of when this issue will be fixed?

  • @amill66 If possible (and I suspect it is), this will be fixed for 3.3.2. In the meanwhile, of course you can simply stick to OpenSesame 3.2.8, or the Python 2.7 version of 3.3.1!

  • Great thank you! How would I change to the Python 2.7 version of 3.3.1?

  • @amill66 On the download page you will see downloads for Windows that are labeled 'Python 2'. These are only available for Windows though!
