keyboard answer missing

Forgive me if I am on the wrong thread, but feel like this is the one.
I launched (finally) my online experiment, in which in the beginning we collect ID numbers of participants with keyboard presses. They have to use the numbers above the keyboard and not the numpad.
Not in all participants, but I have a few instanced that I do not see what they have written in the datafile. I am wondering if this is because they are using the numpad (they are instructed to do not, but still). I also wonder if there is any way to grab this information somehow if they for sure managed to do a keypress one way or another.
The design is: they click on the area to put the ID number, they write 4 numbers and then they press ENTER to switch to write another number below. They click on the second area, they write numbers again and they go on with the experiment.
I can see the cursor was moved, and the ENTER was pressed. But these are the only data I have and some response times for these variables. But I don't know how exactly to find out if they really entered something and if I can, what. Is there any possible way to do this in JATOS?

First things first: how do you collect these numbers? Are you using OSWeb, maybe some adaptation of this script for collecting multicharacter key presses? Or something different?

Yep, exactly. I am using the adaptation of the script and yep, OSWeb. That's why my first wild guess was about the numpad - which makes it maybe impossible to reach to the information anyway?

Reading back your original question, I think the most obvious answer is probably the most likely: The participants simply didn't enter any information. Could that be it? If so, and if that's a problem, then you could add some form of input validation (now or for future experiments). This is a bit tricky in OSWeb, because you cannot use forms with their built-in input validation. But it's possible with some creativity, and it would prevent things like this. (Although at the end of the day there's not much you can do against unmotivated participants, of course.)

Thank you for the answer... It's just I asked because there were people who said they typed something but couldn't see what was written, or instances that had a letter but not a number. But anyway, we will have to explore them manually :)
