Tobii SteelSeries Sentry
I am a conservation biologist, who would like to start studying and practicing eyetracking, to design and perform experiments about visual attention towards different news framing concerning wildlife.
Over the last few days I discovered both Pygaze and OpenSesame, which look pretty impressive and flexible. As this research was self-funded I purchased a relatively old, but cheap, Tobii SteelSeries Sentry. I have seen that some people already use for relatively coarse-grained study about fixation times (https://ipsj.ixsq.nii.ac.jp/ej/?action=pages_view_main&active_action=repository_view_main_item_detail&item_id=183928&item_no=1&page_id=13&block_id=8) and I was thinking about setting up a laptop with Ubuntu 14.04/16.04 or Windows 7/10 to carry out some trials. I would like to design my experiment with OpenSesame, but it seems to use PyGaze for eye tracking devices.
Would PyGaze support my device as well? I have seen that Tobii devices are supported, but I wondered whether mine would work as well.
