OpenSesame on Tablet Double-Tap Required?
Hi, we have set up a simple experiment using the experiment builder in which we present an audio stimuli and children have to choose a matching picture. The response is recorded using the touch_response item. The issue here is that it requires a double tap for the recording of the response and for the experiment to continue. I was therefore wondering whether there is a setting to change this to a simple tap on the tablets display.

Hi @trinhnguyen ,
Just to make sure: if you run it with a mouse, only a single click is necessary? What operating system are you using?
In my experience, the
touch_responseandmouse_responseitems (which use the same underlying functionality) are triggered when you lift your finger from the touch screen rather than when you touch the screen. (Which is annoying in itself, but different from what you're reporting.) But I haven't encountered the behavior that you're describing here before. It's quite possibly something that you can configure in the operating system.— Sebastiaan

Hi @trinhnguyen ,
Is it possible to upload your experiment here, so that we can have a look?

Hi @lvanderlinden ,
I attach the training phase of the experiment. Thanks for offering your help!

Hi @trinhnguyen ,
You have used a mouseclick duration for the
sketchpad(which requires one mouseclick or screen tap), and then have this followed by atouch_response(which requires a second mouseclick or screen tap). So the solution is simply to set thesketchpadduration to 0. See also here for a similar situation:— Sebastiaan

Hi @sebastiaan,
thank you for the suggestion.
I just changed the sketchpad duration to 0, but I still need to doubletap for the experiment to move on.

Trinh
Hi Trinh,
Can you upload the experiment again then? Changing the sketchpads' duration fixes the issue for me, if I am not mistaken
