Stimuli for motion capture of the finger

Hi guys,

I am planning to design a tablet-based experiment in OpenSesame. Within each trial I need to present the participants with several objects (e.g., targets and distractors) that are scattered around the display. Participants would then need to move (ideally with their index finger) and collect objects of intersts (targets) in one side of the display.

I would greatly appreciate any hint on how can I appraoch designing such a task.

Thank you very much!

Best regards, Parishad

  • Hi Parishad,

Provided that the Tablet is compatible with Opensesame, you can absolutely implement such a paradigm. You need to use Python inline coding, specifically, the Mouse object and the Canvas object. The specific implementation could be a little complex, depending on the physics of the paradigm. If you need help with that, you need to be more specific. It would also help, if you could start implementing the task yourself, and try to figure things out while doing (also a great learning experience...). The documentation is a good place to find all the functions you need. And in case you don't have much experience with Python, there are also some great tutorials.

    Hope this helps,

    Eduard
