load all trials at once

Hi folks!

I am partially new to OpenSesame (I used it in the past for eye-tracking, but with a completely different setup, so this feels like starting all over again).

I am planning an online experiment and I am struggling to see whether what I want to do can even be done! My experiment has four trials: In each trial, a picture is shown and participants input a rating. Ideally, participants see, however, the four pictures in each trial (image it as four small images on the left side, and one of them in a bigger size on the right side).

The bit I'm struggling with is precisely the presentation of the four images on the left. Because my trials are randomised, I do not know the image presentation order and thus I can't index them directly. Is there a way I can create all the trials at the very beginning and so I can create this display? If this was to be possible, then the next issue would be to be able to present participants their previous ratings as they proceed in the experiment, but I am taking one step at a time.

Hope this makes sense! Looking forward to hear everyone's ideas on this :)

  • Hi Nadia,

per trial all information are available that can be found in that row of the loop table. If you wish to add all files to a trial, you can add more columns in which you specify the additional file names and interact with them they you want them. Perhaps you want to look at the WCST tutorial. Something similar is happening there if I am remember right.
