Actual behavior (what goes wrong)

Hello, I'm new at OpenSesame. I'm programing an experience for my master's thesis and need to collect RT. In my logged file I'm getting these numbers that I don't understand. What is the time unit of this?

In the examples that you see 17.000 something or 1.700 something I purposely left the trial unanswered, and my timeout is of 1700ms.

Thank you in advance! :)

  • Hi,

I suspect that this is because of a conflict between the regional settings (whether you're using comma or dot to separate decimals) and how excel deals with comma separated values. You can try to open a new empty excel sheet and try to get data from file and select your csv file. While you are importing your data there should be a preview screen where you can change the delimiter settings. So, I don't think there's anything wrong with your experiment. Hopefully, this will help.

    Best,

    Bugay

  • Hi!

It was exactly because of that! My computer was in italian, and in italian we register numbers differently than in english (with commas or dots and stuff). So once I changed my computer to english it worked normally

    Thank you again!!
