[open] Is it possible to use the runtime without administrative privileges?

edited July 2014 in OpenSesame

I need to run my experiment on a user without administrative permission and I don't want to give the administrator credentials to the ones doing it

What can I do?

Thank you very much!

    Hi,

Sure, you can download the "No installation required" package. This will give you the same version of OpenSesame as the .exe installer, but without any need for installation (and consequently no need for administrative rights).

    Cheers!

    Hi Sebastiaan
    Thanks for the reply

My issue is not when installing/running the builder but when I try to run an experiment using opensesamerun - when I try it without administrative permissions - nothing happens

    Is it a known issue?

opensesamerun should run just fine without administrative rights. Could you provide some more info?

    • How and where have you placed OpenSesame?
    • What version and distribution do you use?
    • Do start the experiment with a batch file (.bat) or through the opensesamerun GUI?
    • Do you see an error message, or is there an opensesamerun.exe.log file in the OpenSesame folder?

    Cheers,
    Sebastiaan
