[solved] length of the practic and experimental phase

edited January 2014 in OpenSesame

hi Sebastian,

regarding to step 11 in Opensesame Tutorial i have created a variable "practice" in my block-loop and added "yes" or "no" under this variable according to the trials. I have then created a variable "practice" in practice and experimental loop and added "yes" under this variable in practice_loop and "no" in experimental_loop. but if the experiment runs, all trials in blook_loop were presented regardless the variable "practice" in both practice and experimental phase.

    Hi Sasan,

Unless you explicitly do something with it, creating a practice variable is only useful for logging purposes: During the analysis, it allows you to easily see which trials were part of the practice block, and which of the experiment block. But otherwise it has no effect, that's perfectly normal.

    Does that answer your question?

    Cheers,

    thanks Sebastian,

i have created a variable "practice-phase" in may block-loop. under this variable i have mit "yes" and "no" specified, which trial should be presented in practice and experimental phase. In trial sequence i have gave "[practice] = [practice_phase]" as "run if" and then i have created the variable "practice" in practice- and experimental-loop. i gave "yes" under the variable practice in practice-loop and no in experimental_loop :)
    best regards sasan

    Hi Sasan,

I thought about it for a bit, but I'm still unclear about what exactly it is that you want to do. Perhaps it would be easiest if you attach the experiment (or paste the script to a service like pastebin) and describe in detail the behaviour that you would like to see. That would help me understand your problem.

    Cheers!
    Sebastiaan
