OpenSesame Error

edited May 2015 in OpenSesame

Hi all,

I am an OpenSesame novice so I was hoping I could get some assistance trying to solve the following error. I see it every time I try to test run an experiment.

Unexpected error
exception message:
exception type: OSError

Traceback (also in debug window):
File "/Volumes/OpenSesame/OpenSesame.app/Contents/Resources/lib/python2.7/libopensesame/exceptions.py", line 109, in init
IndexError: list index out of range

I'm running the program on OS X 10.9.5 and didn't have this problem initially. I tried creating a new experiment, uninstalling and reinstalling OpenSesame and tinkering with the settings (using the tutorials) all to no avail. Help, please!

Whoops, I didn't see you had already posted a thread about this issue (I just posted a thread here about the same error).

The good news is, I know what the workaround is (go to preferences and switch the runner to 'inprocess' [instead of 'external']). The bad news is that I was looking forward to using the external runner (since it separates the experiment from the experiment builder such that if one crashes it doesn't crash the other), but this error pops up every time I try running with the external runner.

No worries, but I'm closing this one as a duplicate of #1514.
