I wonder if I need to add a five predictors (one for each trait) for "total-given-so-far" to that trait for each trial? Is there a more sane analysis for this that would be recommended?

I have just realized this may also be problematic since your choice at trial 3, for example, isn't independent of your choice at trails 1 and 2. That is, if you have 5 items, if you chose to put a token on item 2 in trial 1, that would effect whet…

"Remember that the main effect estimates the difference between the decision categories, when the agreement rating is 0." Ah! Now it makes sense! And 0 means something different depending on the coding! Zero doesn't really mean anything i…

Thanks for the response, it is useful! Something I can do (and have done) is instead of controlling for the interaction effect, I can control for the main effect of "agreement with the person you saw" So I would reverse code Agreement for …

Thanks so much for spotting the error Jonny! I just checked and it's not there in the original one (before prepping for it here) :)! Of course this doesn't explain things though. "I think the problem lies in the interaction, where the product …

And here is a plot if it is helpful https://forum.cogsci.nl/uploads/972/YGKZEDK6WFTG.png (Obviously they are the same, just different coding - x axis numbers)

Here is the Jasp file if it saves you time https://forum.cogsci.nl/uploads/582/G5B2GVKJ3FPL.jasp And here is an image of the two sets of results. https://forum.cogsci.nl/uploads/159/XL1W8CQ9UCX3.png

https://forum.cogsci.nl/uploads/719/XY3KF220BJMQ.csv Hi EJ, Here is a super simple dataset! Two very basic linear regressions, Decision Condition is categorical, Agree is Continuous: Like ~ Agree Original Coding *Decision Condition Like ~ Agree Corr…

Resurrecting an old thread but if someone happens to find this through a search and wanted help with the same issue, I found this appendix page: https://doi.org/10.5334/joc.86.s1 from this paper https://www.journalofcognition.org/article/10.5334/joc…

Richard got back to me :) I will copy and paste in here for anyone who stumbles on this thread. With regards to whether lmBF allows for the mixing of categorical and continuous predictors: "Yes, it does. Some of the references are from an older…

Are you able to provide and update on this? I am running some models right now using lmBF that contain both categorical and continuous predictors. It works without throwing up an error but I wanted make sure that it is appropriate.

Understood! And great to hear :) Cheers!
