Hi Sebastian. The sketchpad seems to work perfectly now. Thanks! I note another problem about text display in Psycho. There appear a number of little orizontal dashes above the text lines. I don't remember this happening with the other pre-release…

Hi Sebastian. No, I don't use Ubuntu, but Windows 7. On my system, I have both the 0.26 and the 0.27 pre-3. Both versions run from source, and usually I manually update the pre-release when I find changes in the github page. I have found another pr…

Perfect. Thanks. Andrea

Perfect! I think that defining variables and functions as global is more easy, at least when one has to use a lot of objects. Thanks again.

Related to the use of functions in OpenSesame, if I want to define a function that I have to repeatedly use in (say) four different inline scripts, how can I write that function only one time at the begin of the experiment, making it callable in the…

Many many thanks, Sebastian. This solves the problem. :) Best, Andrea

Hi Zak. In these days I'm attempting to improve the code that I used. Now, I also use BufferImageStim to draw the clock face, and it allows a faster presentation of the stimuli. This is the code that I use to create the clock face. I don't draw the …

Ok, I will use an image. I had already created the instructions image, but I thought that there was a solution for the text_input problem. Btw, it is not a major problem.
-
Hi also thought using the sketchpad, but the problem remains the same. It seems that with Psycho, OpenSesame doesn't recognize the full screen (in my case 1366x768) but only a part of it. I also tryed to write the instructions using a Python code, b…

Hi zak. Here the code you requested. For various reasons, I don't use this method. I think one problem is that manually positioning the clock hand requires that the subject has to wait until the clock hand reaches the choosen position. I don't now …

Hi Caiman. We have the same research interests, very well! :) Actually, I developed a quite different code to creating the intentional binding paradigm. I use the PsychoPy backend, since it seems to be more precise. Moreover, I prefere to create i…

I have tried it just now and it works like a charm. You are the Genie of the Lamp. :) Thank you very much, Sebastian.

Hi Sebastian. * Yes, the window disappears, OpenSesame close itself and I don't receive any error message. * The problem happens when I run the experiment. OpenSesame opens the experiment window but immediately after it crashes. * I tried two d…

I've tested two different experiments with the Psycho backend. Specifically, one of them is a simple paradigm in which a cross appears at the center, the participant has to press the space bar, and after a random time a beep is produced. Then the pa…

Hi Edwin. I report you a problem I encountered using the portable version in Windows 7. When I try to run my experiment, OpenSesame simply automatically closes itself. However, I strongly suspect it is a problem related to the PsychoPy backend, beca…

I simply first deleted the library.zip from my installation folder, then I just copied the library.zip from the portable version to the installation folder. ;) Previously, I tried to use Pygame to read the gamepad, but it didn't work.

Ok! I imported the hardware folder from the python portable version (that continues to crash on my computer, I'll write to Edwin about that) to OpenSesame (no installation needed version). I tried the psychopy.hardware.joystick class and it works we…

Ah ok. I already tried to use the portable distribution, but it crashes when I go to run the experiment. I don't know why.
-
Ok, thanks. Aside from these harmless aspects, the 0.26 pre-release seems to work fine for me since now.
-
Indeed I solved by using the pre-release and it appears quite stable since now. Anyway, I think it would be useful to make it possible to update the psychopy libraries by button, in the future versions of software.

Yes, your code works very well. There is only a small timing problem that maybe I can solve by using psycho back end. Thanks for the reply. Andrea
-
Very well, it works perfectly! Excuse me if I haven't seen before the post. :) Best regards.
-
In fact, now it works like a charm! I've noticed that, for a greater timing precision, it is better to manually draw the clock face, rather than add a specific jpeg image in the canvas, like I was doing. Thanks Sebastian, you have been very helpful!

I had already tried to play an avi movie in Open Sesame. I noticed that the player reproduce the movie too fast. About swf clips, I think that Open Sesame can be able to reproduce such file format if one import a Python module that allow that. Are …

A curiosity: can OpenSesame read flash swf formats?

In fact, now it works! Thank you so much. Sadly, the paradigm I've to create is not so easy to implement, because there are various aspects to keep under control, as the duration of rotation, the hand movements smoothness, the timings etc. I hope Op…

Yes, I've already tried with canvas.image command, but the problem is that I can't show at the same time both the background image (clock face) and the various canvasses of the hand. When I insert the command you wrote, the clock image appears alway…

Hi Sebastian. I'm continuing to test the code you provided me. To creating the compete clock, I thought that I can put the canvas rotation above a jpeg image of the clock face. So the canvasses appear above a background image. I've read the Python d…
