Installation problem on Asus ExpertBook
Hello,
Several attempts to install OpenSesame on an Asus ExpertBook result in a corruption of the Intel graphic card driver. The display turns upside down, the brightness adjustment is impossible, and many other disturbances that correspond to a corruption of the driver. Fortunately, it can be reinstalled but OpenSesame cannot be used. The description of the PC is attached.
Thank you in advance,
Gérard

Hi @gerhono
That's strange. Have you tried installing it with conda?
Perhaps @sebastiaan will have a better idea of what's going on.

Hi @gerhono,
I honestly don't know why this might happen. But my guess is that it's specific to a single backend. Is that correct? If so, which backend, and does switching it resolve the issue?

Hello Claire and Sebastiaan,
Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, it is difficult to test switching the backend, because any action results in the graphics card shutting down. I'll continue to think about it ...
Kind regards,
Gérard
Okay, so it's not the experiment, but the user interface itself. In that case, there must be some kind of incompatibility between Qt6, the GUI toolkit, and your system.

After carefull testing, I noted that the startup screen of OS shows up correctly, but it produces an intense and unusual internal activity of the PC. With the startup experiment, the Expyriment background produces a black screen, Psychopy a distorted image and only legacy generates a correct display. It takes a long time to stop the experiment, and only by closing the display screen. The stop button on the command interface is not operational. It is obvious that OpenSesame puts the PC in a general state of instability. I won't try to investigate further, it's risky.
