[solved] Video won't play in full screen mode!

Trying to get an experiment up and running as quickly as possible! Videos worked fine in test run mode and 'window mode' but won't play when running in full screen. I've tried both the Legacy and Xpyriment backends but neither work.

The instructions appear at the start of the experiment and then participants are supposed to click for a video to start. I can hear the video being played but the instructions remain on screen and then skip to the next set of instructions (which are supposed to appear after the video has been seen)...

Any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated,

KJ

    Hi KJ,

First off, please don't mark your question as URGENT in the title. That comes across as pushy, and will not get you an answer any quicker.

Regarding your question, I'm not sure what the underlying problem could be (@dschreij?). But if the videos play fine in window mode, you should be able to get things working in fullscreen mode by changing the back-end settings. For example, you could see what happens if you set 'Use OpenGL' to 'no' for the xpyriment back-end, or if you enable/ disable 'Double buffering' etc. for the legacy back-end. This can be a bit unpredictable, but I'm fairly sure you should find settings that work on your system.

    Cheers,
    Sebastiaan

Okay, I'm sorry about that! I was racing against time to get an experiment up and running for a student and couldn't find a solution on the forum...

Anyway I managed to fix it thanks, I changed the back-end to Xpyriment and updated the OpenGL software on the computer which was the main problem.

    Cheers,

    KJ
