Append Items drop-down menus
Hi!
I wanted to ask about the disappearance of the drop-down menus of "Append existing item" and "Append new item" from the sequence window in the new version of OpenSesame.
Is it a deliberate decision and the old selections have been replaced with other functions?

Hi Michael,
Yes, it's a deliberate decision to move towards a more drag-and-drop oriented way of working. To re-use an existing item, you can now either drag an item with
Ctrlpressed, or right click on an item and select 'Create linked copy' (shortcut:Ctrl+Shift+L).Hope this clears things up!
Cheers,
Sebastiaan

Yes. Thanks for the clarification!
Argh! I really liked that feature (which I still enjoy on my mac, but no longer on windows)....I might start a petition to bring it back
@mariosav Do you have reason to think that many other people feel the same way? If so, an append button could be re-added.

Hi Sebastiaan....I'm not sure but at the same time I'll be very surprised if it's only me who likes it! I just liked the fact that you could set up a sequence really quickly through the dropdown menu. Dragging and dropping each item must take longer. Plus, on hi-res screens the icons in the toolbox appear really small making the task harder. I personally gave up trying to use OpenSesame on my 3200x1800 windows laptop.
At the very least, it would help to have this important difference in the user interface for sequence building updated in a new version of the beginner video tutorial. I eventually found the answer in a search of the forum, but this would be very confusing for any new user who started with the tutorial but couldn't follow along or find such a basic function. As for screen resolution, I think I agree with the point above (mariosav) and would not want to try building an experiment on my laptop using drag and drop this way. Perhaps the dropdown menus could be reintroduced as an option in the View menu for those of us who benefit from it?
