[solved] Preferential-Looking-Paradigm with 2 screens showing different pictures

I would like to implement a Preferential-Looking-Paradigm (PLP).

In the test phase the participants are going to sit in front of two screens that are showing different picture at the same time. Meanwhile they will be hearing audible stimuli. The eye- and headmovements will be recorded with a camera between the screens/monitors.

Is it possible to use open sesame with two screens displaying different visual stimuli at the same time?
How can I implement this?

Hi Bekks,

That's certainly possible. By far the easiest option is to use the xpyriment backend, which will automatically use both monitors. So, for example, if you have two 1024x768 monitors side by side, you could set the resolution of your experiment to 2048x768. The left side of the display will then automatically go to the left monitor, and the right side to the right monitor. Does that make sense?

There are other options too, but if the solution above is enough, I would go with that.

As an aside, calibrating an eye tracker across two monitors is tricky. It can be done (as it happens I'm working on experiment which is doing just that), but it's tricky and not very accurate.
