[solved] Auto-response trouble

edited September 2012 in OpenSesame

Hi,

I encountert some funny auto response bugs.

It seems, it simply presses the wrong buttons. Here only the keys "f" and "j" are allowed, but the response variable stores an "a".

Also on the opensesame-portable version, which I use, the menu bullet "enable/disable auto response" always shows "enable...".

  • Also flushing the pending key presses does not help...

  • Okay, here is some more information.

It seems like, it would sometimes take the response from the previous text_display and store it into the response-variable. But my script appears after the keyboard_response item of my trails, so it seems that sometimes it is too slow to store the keyboard-press into the global response-variable before my script picks it up.

    What can I do?

  • Okay, problem solved.

I had my code in the prepare-phase, which lead to evaluation before any keyboard-response was recorded.

    Thanks for reading ;)

Haha, well thank you for sharing. I'm glad it's solved. Still, auto-response doesn't work as well as it should, I'm aware of that. It's an area of improvement for the future.

    Cheers!
