[open] Need help with developing a flanker task on the mobile android platform
Hello Everyone, I'm in the Emotional Regulation lab at Columbia and we're looking to use the open sesame android mobile platform to test the flanker task on. I have tried to transfer the flanker task I created on open sesame for PC to the android platform with no luck. I have no coding background, and this may be a simple fix that I'm simply unaware of. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

Hi,
Without more details it is virtually impossible to help you. Could you let us know what precisely seems to be the issue? Error messages, log files, the experiment. Information on all of those will help.
Thanks,
Eduard
Hi Eduard, I built a flanker task on my mac. I dragged and dropped the experiment into the correct sdcard folder on the android platform. After I open the open sesame app on the mobile android and go to find the uploaded flanker experiment it is not there. Here are the images of my issues. After confirming I have the experiment in the right folder on the android, I'm unable to locate it in the sdcard folder when prompted to on the mobile platform.
Thanks, Priyal
Hi Eduard, I have been able to make some progress. I took the created experiment out of the sdcard folder (image attached), and am able to see choose it on the mobile app (image attached). However after I click on the experiment it crashes. I'd appreciate any insight or help on the matter.
Hi,
Thanks for the additional information. Unfortunately, I won't be much of an help here, as I don't have a tablet around to try things myself and your problem doesn't seem to be trivial.
Maybe @sebastiaan can help?
Sorry,
Eduard
Thanks for your help Eduard! Any ideas @sebastiaan?
Priyal
Hi,
Just to clarify the first issue, about locating the experiment: What seems to be the top-level folder for you is actually the
/sdcardfolder. So you initially put the experiment/sdcard/sdcard. Locating files can be quite confusing on Android, but there are a few decent explorer apps available that clear things up by showing paths as they really are.Regarding the crash. You should see debug info in
/sdcard/opensesame-debug.txtas described here:So please post the content of the debug file, and upload the experiment itself.
Cheers!

Thanks Sebastiaan!
Here is the debug file content,
/sdcard/opensesame-autorun.yml
/mnt/sdcard/opensesame-autorun.yml
Launching resources/android/menu.osexp
openexp.sampler._legacy.init_sound(): sampling freq = 48000, buffer size = 1024
experiment.run(): experiment started at Tue Aug 2 16:02:08 2016
opened /sdcard/opensesame-settings.txt for reading
experiment_folder = /sdcard
logfile_folder = /sdcard
How should I upload the experiment? I can't figure that out. Thanks again @sebastiaan
There was a problem with the upload tool, but it should be fixed now! It's the right-most item of the toolbar above the comment field.

Thanks! Here it is. I really appreciate your help
@sebastiaan did the uploaded experiment work for you?
Right, so first things first: To run the experiment on an Android device, you must use the droid backend! You can find more information about how to develop experiments for Android here:
