OpenSesame on Android crashes
in OpenSesame
Hi there,
I have issues open an experiment on a tablet (acer, iconia One 8, Android 5.1). I have seen Heidi's post which pretty much describes my problem (http://www.cogsci.nl/forum/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/5701) and tried out all suggestions, but it still doesn't work. I only use JPEGs without any special characters, no movies, sounds etc. Any ideas what the problem might be?
Thanks a lot

...sorry, I should have mentioned that the problem I am referring to is that opensesame crashes on the android after selecting it and defining the logfile to save the data. It just closes. The sample experiment works all right, so I guess there is a problem with my experiment...
Thanks

Hi Sebastiaan,
Thanks for your reply. I can't find this file anywhere on the android. On the PC it runs perfectly, so there are no debugging statements there either.
The file is there, trust me. (Although whether it will contain useful information is another matter.) It's a bit difficult to browse the android file system, but there are several explorer apps in the Play Store that make this easier.

I found it. It looks like expyriment was not installed (correctly). Should this be installed on the PC, where I create the experiment or on my Android where I run it?
To be able to run an experiment on Android, you need to take a few things into account, the most important of which is that you need to select the droid backend (not xpyriment!). For more information, see this page:

Hi Sebastiaan,
I changed the backend setting to droid and I had to adjust the display to 1280 x 800 to get it running, but it runs now! Thanks a lot for helping!
