Open Sesame Painfully Slow

Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone on macOS has had any problems with start up times of OS after installing Anaconda?
I am running the latest version of OS and have brand new top model 15 MBP, so it isn't the computer specs. When I first installed OS it was very quick, now it takes over 2 mins to start up some times? This seemed to have started happening after installing anaconda packages, I know correlation /= causation, but it seems odd. I have uninstalled OS many times, no luck

Hi Liam,

OpenSesame is not blazingly fast when starting up, especially on Mac OS. However, if it used to start faster, then something might indeed be wrong.

As a first start you could take a look at the Plug-in and Extension Manager (under Menu → Tools). This should initialization times for all extensions and plug-ins that are loaded on startup. Is there one with a very high startup time? I'd say anything > 1 s is suspect. If not, then there's something in the core of OpenSesame itself that slows things down.
