[solved] Screens advancing without waiting for a keypress
I have a couple experiments in which, on several screens, the screen is supposed to remain until a keypress. These experiments work fine on most OS, hardware combinations but not on one.
- My office desktop (IBM ThinkCenter) running Mepis 11 - OK
- My office desktop (IBM ThinkCenter) running Kubuntu 12.04 - OK
- Lab desktop (IBM ThinkCenter) running Windows 7 - OK
- Dell Inspiron Laptop running Mepis 11 - OK
- Dell Inspiron Laptop running Kubuntu 12.04 - Not OK - That's the one where screens progress on their own without waiting for a keypress. I'm running the same experiment file (on a flashdrive) in every case. I quess 4 out of 5 isn't bad, but it's strange that the same experiment file, run on the same OS (Kubuntu 12.04) works fine on the office desktop, but not on the laptop. I even tried complete removal and re-installation of Opensesame, with no change.

Hi Bob,
One thing that comes to mind is that the auto-response option may be activated on the Kubuntu system. This is a feature for testing your experiment by (sort of) emulating the participant's responses. Could that be it?
