[open] Placing plugin under Mac OSX
Hi all,
I think that the instructions for placing plugins under Mac OSX are a bit vague. Maybe that depends on distribution too. I am a newbie under Mac, after many years under Linux. So, under Linux you can have either user-located place, i.e., ~/.opensesame/plugins/ or system-wide place, i.e., /usr/share/opensesame/plugins/ (probably, with a bit of hacking even: /usr/local/share/opensesame/plugins/). However, under Mac there is only ~/.opensesame, but without plugins subdirectory. No options for system-wide. That is fine, in principle, but I wonder what would be the best solution? Any experiences to share?
Many thanks,
Petar

Hi Petar,
You can create the
pluginssub-folder yourself and then place the plug-ins in there. That should work also on Mac OS.Does Mac OSX have a
/usr/share/folder? If so, creating a/usr/share/opensesame/plugins/folder should allow you to install plug-ins system wide. I'm not sure though, because I'm not familiar with the Mac OS folder structure. If you try this, please let us know how this works!Cheers!

Hi,
As I did not found a specific description I worked it out from the given hints and sum it up here for other (poor) Mac Users.
Just click right on opensesame.app in the Applications folder and choose "View Package Contents" from the menu. The exact phrase might differ as I'm working with the german version here.
Then you will find the plugins folder here: ~/contents/resources/plugins
... where all the common plugins can be found too.
After placing the newly to installed plugin's folder there it will appear in Opensesame.
Best Regards,
Holger
