Error message and responses help

Hello

I am in the middle of creating an experiment for my masters dissertation and when I try and run the experiment I get the following error message

Also, the experiment involves showing facial stimuli as part of 3 stages of an experiment. Participants are asked to rate faces based on a scale of 1-9. I have added the images to the file pool and added variables including the file for the face and the response. In the keyboard response I have added allowed responses to be 1-9. There is not a 'correct response' for this experiment. How do I solve this on the program and allow people to response 1-9 for each facial stimuli?

Any help how to solve this would be appreciated

  • Hi Kayleigh,

Because of some trouble with the server, some discussion attachments were lost, including your screenshot. Could you re-upload it so that I can take a look?

How do I solve this on the program and allow people to response 1-9 for each facial stimuli?

It sounds like you've already implemented it, but I'm assuming that something doesn't work as you would like it to. What have you done exactly? And in what sense doesn't this work as you'd like it to?

    Cheers!

  • Hi Sebastiaan,

    Thank you for the reply

I have reuploaded the photo image. In the image you can also see the overview of the experiment on the left. There is three parts of the experiment. I have also added 200 faces to the file pool. I want to show 100 of these two faces in the 1st part. Then show all 200 faces in the third part. I wanted to know the quickest way of implementing all the faces. Also, the image is of the error message I receive when I try and run the experiment.

    Thanks, Kayleigh

  • Hi Kayleigh,

The error message suggests that at least one of your files has an invalid filename? Did you check whether this is the case? If not, it still would be nice to see the part of your experiment in which you present the images (I suppose the sketchpads?), because from the overview area alone, it is hard to see and say what is wrong.

By the way, in case you haven't already done so, the beginner's tutorial describes how to add images to an experiment. The same logic that is being used there, can be applied to your experiment.
