Recording Verbal Responses

Hey everyone!

I'm currently designing an online experiment that requires recording the participants' verbal responses.

I've read an unofficial source that claims that OSWeb doesn't support audio recordings and the documentation of the OpenSesame Sound Recorder plugin seems to suggest the same.

That said, I would like to know for sure- does OSWeb support the recording of verbal responses, and if it does, which library should I use?

Hi Tom,

You're correct, OSWeb does not currently (v1.3.8) support sound recording.

It may be possible to record sound through a custom inline JavaScript, but I have never done this myself, and I suspect that it will be challenging. But if you feel up to it, you could take a look at this documentation:

There are some other people on the forum who have attempted this and have posted example code. If you do a search on the forum in the osweb category for audio or sound recording, you are bound to bump into it. Good luck!
