Troubles with OpenSesame 3.3.3 - .osexp files don't open
in OpenSesame
I encountered a problem after updating to OpenSesame 3.3.3: my .osexp files don't launch anymore. When I try to open them, a cmd window appears for a moment, then it closes and nothing happens. I still can open files by opening the program itself and by using the menu (File -> Open), but I'd like to know what the problem is.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi @Alex_M ,
Thanks for reporting this. If you go to the OpenSesame program folder (probably
c:\Program Files (x86)\OpenSesame), you'll see a file calledopensesame.bat. That's the script (batch file) that's being launched when you try to open an experiment. But it closes really quickly, and that's why you don't see any error message. Can you edit
opensesame.batin a text editor (e.g. notepad), add a new line that only sayspauseto the end of the file, and then save it? Then, if you try to open an experiment by double-clicking on the file, you should be able to see the error message that appears in the command window. Perhaps you can take a screenshot of that and post it here?Cheers!
