Graphics tablet - written responses

Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask if and how I could use a graphics tablet to collect written responses for one of my opensesame experiments. Specifically, I am using a Wacom tablet and I want to record reaction times and response duration of written naming responses.

Any input is welcome!

Thank you,

Kyriaki

  • Hi @KyriakiN ,

I have never worked with a Wacom tablet myself, but I can imagine that it exposes itself as a mouse, just like a touch screen does. So as a first step, I would insert a mouse_response in a simple experiment and see whether you can trigger the mouse_response by touching the Wacom tablet. I would try that with both the legacy and the psycho backend, because it's possible that they behave differently in that respect.

If this works, then you won't need any dedicated libraries to use the Wacom as a response device. If this doesn't work, then you'll need to search the internet to see how other people have managed to use a Wacom tablet in Python.
