[solved] failing to initiate any experiments i have made on Android (Nexus7)

The example ones work fine. I have scanned other discussions and i notice that a number of functions did not work such as fixation dot. I have made an experiment with a sketchpad simply displaying TEXT for 5 seconds. Backend is Droid however as soon as i input participant number, it exits and goes to my android homescreen. Any advice? Is there any way i can access the example experiments on my PC and not just my nexus? Many thanks

You can find debugging output in /sdcard/opensesame-debug.txt (i.e. what you would see in the debug window on your PC). What does this file say? See also:

They are simply included with the standard examples and marked with '(Android version)':

I have accidentally deleted this text file! I have attempted to uninstall and reinstall OS on nexsus however the log files or debug txt files no longer save to the /sdcard.

i changed the display resolution to the same as your examples and it seemed to work

Good to hear that you worked it out. Yes, indeed, the droid back-end requires a fixed 1280x800 resolution. The image will always be scaled so that it fits the entire screen, though!

I cannot access to the examples you mention and have the same issue. Which is the resolution required, to be introduced when setting the experiment?

btw. I changed to 1280x800 but the scaling does not seem to occur.

@elesa This is a very old discussion. As you can read on the documentation, the Android runtime for OpenSesame no longer works on recent versions of Android. In many cases, there are better alternatives now, such as using a Windows tablet or running experiments online with OSWeb.
