Mastodon: connect here + good servers
If (like me) you're thinking of moving most of your social-media needs from Twitter to Mastodon, you've probably found that it's not trivial to find a) a Mastodon server to create an account on, and b) to reconnect with your old contacts on there! Hence a place to get started!
Good Mastodon servers
It doesn't really matter which Mastodon server you create an account on, because they're all connected and you can also move your account to another server later on. Nevertheless, herewith some academia-affiliated servers. (Feel free to suggest more.)
