Open two experiments at the same time
Dear Forum,
Since I need to copy some elements of one experiment to my main experiment, I wanted to ask whether it is possible to open two experiments at the same time in Open Sesame?
Thank you so much in advance!
Best,
Sarah

Hi @sarah_alexandra,
You can indeed open two Open Sesame tasks simultaneously. Each will appear in its own window. To copy an element from one experiment to the other, click on the element you want to copy, then right-click and select Copy (unlinked) or press CTRL+C, then in the destination experiment, click on the object you want to the paste the element after, right-click and select paste or press CTRL+V.
Hope this helps.
Fabrice.
Hello @Fab
Thank you for your answer, but I still cannot open two windows. How do you open two tasks at the same time ? I have a mac and each time I open a task it just replaces the one I was working on, impossible to have two windows.
Thank you in advance for your help !
Sara
Hi Sara,
you have to launch Opensesame twice. Within one Opensesame window, you can just have one task active.

Hi @eduard,
Thank you for your quick answer! However, I cannot launch Opensesame twice, it still opens only one window and always come to that same window.
I also cannot click on a .osexp file for it to open (it just opens Opensesame be does no display the experiment), I can only access it by opening it from the open tab, but this is another problem.
Thank you for your help.

@sebastiaan, is this something specific to mac systems? Or related to how you install Opensesame? At least, I (linux system, conda installation) can launch two windows without problems.
Eduard
Hi @eduard and @Sara_MC ,
Yes, I believe it's something specific to Mac OS that the app launcher always starts the same instance. But also on Mac OS you can start multiple instances of OpenSesame through Menu → File → New window.
