Problem opening task from iPhone

Hi,

I have a JATOS installed on our university servers. But for some reason if a task is opened with an iPhone the task does not start. I have tried this with two different iPhone's and different web browsers. I get the welcome screen from OpenSesame but after that nothing happens.

Have anyone else experience this?

I have tried on 4 different iPhones and different browsers on them with the same result.

I have uploaded a OSWeb template on our server.

So even with only a sketchpad it dose not work on iPhones.

@sebastiaan Do you know what the problem could be here?

There used to be an issue with sound on iOS in previous versions of OSWeb. I suspect that's it. It's fixed now though, so updating OSWeb should resolve the issue. If you're using OpenSesame 4, you can do that through the built-in updater.

I have updated OSWeb from 2.0.1 to 2.1.0, but it will still not start on my iPhone.

Hi @SpacePenguins ,

This link should work fine on most iOS devices. However, if you have a somewhat older iPhone it's possible that it doesn't work, for example because WebGL is not supported by the device. But that will be the exception rather than the rule.

Hi @sebastiaan, I have tried these iPhones and iOS versions without any success with the link above.

iPhone 11, iOS 16.6.1

iPhone 11, iOS 17.2.1

iPhone 12, iOS 17.1.23

I tested making a new OSWeb template without full screen and it works.

Ok thanks for letting me know. It sounds like there are issues with full-screen on iOS then, which I wasn't aware of.
