[solved] link to .wav files?

edited August 2011 in OpenSesame
The audio synthesizer is nice to have but it is somewhat limited in its ability to produce acoustic stimuli. Moreover, it may be desirable to use speech stimuli. Is it possible to use external .wav files in an experiment (e.g., dichotic listening)?

    Hi Mdshaver,

Thank you for your interest in OpenSesame!

That's certainly possible. In addition to the synthesizer there's the sampler, which provides playback of sound samples (.ogg and .wav only, see Audacity for a free program to convert various formats)

You can take a look at the tutorial (step 8) (link) for an example. Usage of the sampler in Python inline code is documented here.

    Hope this helps!

    Kindest regards,
    Sebastiaan
