Issue with desktop app > OSWeb connection: Cannot open OSWeb and JATOS control panel
Hi all,
I'm encountering an issue in the OpenSesame desktop application (4.0; running on Mac OS 13.6.1) where it will not open the 'OSWeb and JATOS control panel' and I am unable to change the settings there. A brief red error message pops up that reads: 'Extension Oswebext misbehaved on activate'.
The Console error message reads 'setText(self, a0: str): argument 1 has unexpected type 'int''.
I thought it might be an issue of me changing the OSWeb and JATOS control panel settings for an experiment I am developing, but after uninstalling and reinstalling OpenSesame, I have the same issue - without even opening any experiment or template.
I don't have a strong coding background so I apologise if this is a super simple fix. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @Dai ,
Thanks for reporting this. It seems to be a combination between a bug in OSWeb and a numeric value that was entered in a field that should be a string. This should be fixed in the next maintenance release of OSWeb (2.1.0.1) that you can install through the automatic updater.
