Problem of update

Hi everybody,

Nearly everytime I start Opensemame, I get an invitation to update. I use the automatic update procedure and in the end, I always get an invitation to update Conda (I don't know what it is, but I am compliant ...). That second update takes place but always ends with an error message that is detailed in the attached file. Can anybody clarify this situation ? Thank you in advance.

Cheers,

Gérard

  • Hi @gerhono ,

Anaconda (with the command line tool conda ) is a package management system for Python that OpenSesame uses. It has some advantages but it can also be fragile such that, for no obvious reason, the packages end up in a state where you can no longer install or update things. That seems to have happened for you. If you download OpenSesame again, you will probably be able to run the updates.

  • Hello Sebastiaan,

I have reinstalled OpenSesame but the problem is still present, exactly the same error message and description as in the previous attachment ...

  • Hi @gerhono ,

I misunderstood your initial question, but I see now that you are trying to update conda itself (rather than use conda to update other packages as suggested by the automatic updater). I'm not sure why this gives the error that you see, but unless you have a specific reason and know exactly what you're doing there is no reason to update conda!

  • Hello Sebastiaan,

The reason of my questionning is that prompts for update occur in a recurrent way during the same work session. That's why I wonder if the problem could be on the side of the updater conda which might not do the job. I have posted another message with the report of the update process.

I shall better track the updates of OS if I know where the full version number can be found. I don't see it anywhere in the user interface.
