"The experiment was aborted" pop up when using Esc+Q

Hi there,

When trying to abort opensemame experiments, I usually use Esc+Q, but recently Esc + q does not work anymore. After pressing esc, the usual message comes up, but then pressing Q does not do anything, the screen is frozen in place. I tried to run in small window and noticed that after pressing Esc, a small separate window with the message "The experiment was aborted" pop up and only when "ok " was pressed in this window, the experiment quits successfully. I wonder how I could get rid of this pop up? It becomes impossible to quit when I'm testing experiments full screen.

Thank you !

  • Hi @Xin ,

It sounds like you have (possibly by accident) changed the runner (under Preferences → Common settings → Running experiments) to 'Run experiment in opensesamerun (external)'. This is a somewhat technical options that means that the experiment is started as a separate application, which is generally not what you want. You can switch it back to 'Run experiment in a separate process (multiprocess)', which is the default option.

  • Hi Sebastiaan,

Thank you so much for the solution, that's very clear. I'll give it a try.

    Best wishes,

    Xin
