Distribution plot

edited October 2024 in JASP & BayesFactor

If I create a standard distribution plot, the labels on the x-axis are not visible/readable. Even when clicking on editing Figure, I cannot optimize that. How do you deal with this? Am I doing anything wrong?

Additional information: I have now seen, that this has been suggested on github already in 2021, does this mean, that this suggestion has already been refused?

  • We have a lot of fish to fry, but I've bumped the issue on our GitHub page. In the mean time, the use of shorter labels or post-JASP editing in a graphics program may help. This should look better if you stretch out the figure a little.

As an aside, that axis should go up to 200, because now the histogram exceeds the y-axis, which is not pretty (this is something you can fix in our Image Editor, but it should perform well by default). This is also an issue that you could post on our GitHub page!

  • Thank you very much for your reply. Could you let me know how often JASP is typically updated? I’m curious about whether such bugs are usually addressed in a short timeframe or if it tends to take longer. I completely understand that JASP is a free, open-source project and that development resources might be limited. Thank you again for all your efforts in improving the software.

  • In the past we've had major updates about three times a year. We are making some fundamental changes to make this process easier (so that we can update individual modules immediately without having to go through an entire release cycle).

    Thank you, @EJ

Is this forum primarily intended for support requests, while all feature suggestions should be posted directly on GitHub? I am never entirely sure where to post and want to avoid flooding both platforms with my ideas, reports, and questions.

  • Yes, GitHub is dedicated to feature requests and bug reports, whereas this forum is meant for more high-level statistical questions and discussions.

  • Thanks so much, @EJ , for clarifying this. So most of my previous postings should have been posted on github instead of here. Nevertheless, thank you for all your answers.
