Statistical analysis of an questionnaire with JASP - Newbie on the start!

Greetings JASP community! 👋

Thank you for letting me being part of this forum and creating this discussion to expand my experience & knowledge with the statistic program JASP.

Long story short(ened): I am currently struggling with the handling of JASP in terms of generating reliable and rational test results. Therefore, it would be great if somebody would like to "teach me" how to properly using statistical tests like t-test, regressions or ANOVA for a provided data set of my university I need to analyse properly. I already checked several youtube videos and workbooks, but I still failed to succeed.

I am looking forward to a reply from anyone who wants to share his/her/its expert skills and supporting a bachelor student abandon his fear of math and statistics. 👨‍🎓

Hello andersony3k!

It's great that you took your time and made a very first attempt to help me out. I already checked the provided manual but are still a little helpless.

In fact: I have a bunch of variables from a questionaire and am very confused which one to use to create a regression analysis, a t-test or an ANOVA e.g.

Would you mind to check the attached "Variables_Explanation.txt" document in which I listed all variables names and gave a short explanation about what they measured? Thanks in advance for your efforts.

Thanks for your response and advice - unfortunately, that's what I already did and still failed. 😥

Somehow, I was not able to transfer the given information about which variable(s) to use/combine into the JASP application properly - receiving error message(s) or unexpected test results.

If it's helpful, I will provide further details about my statistical analysis by sharing screenshots of the test results.

It's my pleasure to share further insights into the challenges I am currently dealing with.

The main question is: "How can a descriptive analysis of an online questionnaire be done using JASP?".

My task: Evaluate the provided data set from a sample survey concerning statistical factors influencing return behavior for online orders. Refer to the measures preferred by survey participants to prevent returns, ranked by order of preference and demographic factors. Conduct the analysis using statistical test procedures, such as a regression analysis and/or t-test procedure, checking the significance of the results.

My problem: I do not understand which variables I need for which statistical test and why (see variables_explanation.txt). It would be perfect if I could get a hint or advice here to generate reliable test results I can interpret afterwards.

Its great that you are asking. Its not an exam question, just a short summary of the task my lecturer gave me. I tried to put all the relevant information into a few sentences. With the help of the generated results in JASP, I was asked to write a report about the statistical analysis of the given sample including my findings and proper evaluation of the test results.
