Discovering Statistics using JASP - some errors in online resources
Hi JASP team, let me know if there's another place to post about the new textbook - I'll be using it in a class already in the upcoming term so I've been scrutinising all the materials (slide decks, quizzes/MCQs, within-chapter and end-of-chapter tasks). I figured I'd just post about the little errors as I come across them.
In the DSuJ Smart Alex task 5.8:
Using the pets.jasp
data from Chapter 4 (Task 6), plot two raincloud plots comparing scores when having a fish or cat as a pet (x-axis): one for the animal liking variable, and the other for life satisfaction.
the variable names and secondary factor are labelled incorrectly in the answer (online resources):
Go to the Raincloud plot analysis in the Descriptives Module. Here, specify the variable accuracy
as the Dependent Variable, while using name_type
as the Primary Factor and sex
as the primary factor.
And earlier in 5.7, the secondary factor is also mislabelled as the primary factor:
Go to the Raincloud plot analysis in the Descriptives Module. Here, specify the variable accuracy
as the Dependent Variable, while using name_type
as the Primary Factor and sex
as the primary factor.
In the powerpoint slides available in the teaching resources, some slides still say 'SPSS' instead of JASP. Specifically:
-slide 3 of Field et al_PPT08.pptx
-slide 20 and 25 of Field et al_PPT09.pptx
-slide 3 of Field et al_PPT11.pptx
-slide 3 of Field et al_PPT12.pptx
-slide 4 of Field et al_PPT15.pptx

Thanks! I will bring this to the attention of Johnny van Doorn, who will be particularly pleased with this helpful feedback!
