Hi Skilli, 'It's not allowed to reload this component...' only happens if one tries to reload a component (a part of a study in JATOS - since you use OSWeb you likely have only component and it is equal to study) usually with the browser's reload b…

Hi Hulya! This 'not finished yet' does not necessarily mean that your study run was not successful. Internally JATOS only counts a study as 'finished' if a certain API call (jatos.endStudy or similar ones) took place. Only then switches the state fr…
-
If it is about huge asset files like audio, video or images that you want to share between your slightly different studies: JATOS doesn't force you to use it's study assets for file delivery. You can use any other file hosting service in the interne…

I thought about something along this line. We might implement this in the future.
-
Unfortunately this is not possible. I'm curious: What would you like the home page to be?
-
Both are fine - but if you want to use Oracle's you have to pay (as far as I know) to use it in 'production'. So I always recommend OpenJDK.

Hi Alex, I checked the Hello world example study under Windows and had the same problem as you: loading of files lead to 403s. Usually I work under Linux or Mac and only test on Windows. And during testing it must have slipped through. It is a bug I…
-
Hi Liesbeth, I see in your study that you load the audio and video files just before they are played. It would be better to pre-load them at the beginning of the study. Loading larger files like audio or video always take some time and here in your …

Strange! Spontaneously I come up with folder permissions ... but then why the difference between 3.5.5 and 3.5.6? Which OS do you run JATOS on?
-
Hi Alex, What happens if you try your study on experiments.jatos.org or cortex.jatos.org? Both have version 3.5.6 too. Best, Kristian
-
Hi Liesbeth, If you post/send the study I can have a look at it. But actually it would be better to ask someone from lab.js, since this is not so much a JATOS problem. Best, Kristian
-
Hi Christina, May I ask how you distribute your study links? Services like Google Hangout, Slack or Google Keep and maybe even Twitter, Facebook or Reddit call the link you paste to gather more information (e.g. a nice image and introduction text). …
-
Hi Liesbeth, experiements.jatos.org should be able to handle your experiment as far as I can see: 20 different videos each 500-900kb is not too big. the video's are delayed. It gives no video at all, or a black screen first and then shows the video…

experiments.jatos.org (aka COVID server) is located in Frankfurt, Germany. Best, Kristian

I agree with Daniel, the Study Session can be used in this case to transfer information from one component to another. And the example Daniel gave is perfect ;) Best, Kristian

I can't see any problem in your nginx.conf, although I'm far from being an Nginx expert. But does Nginx give you any error in it's log? The logs are usually in /var/log/nginx. Best K.

Hi Chi! You seem to have fixed it already. I just tried your address and it worked, even with HTTPS. Good work! :D https://forum.cogsci.nl/uploads/178/DL30IY9Y0WIL.png Best, Kristian

Hi! Just a hint for the next time: It's better to open a new thread - old threads get easily overlooked and you can always link to the old thread. That you got this message, 'To use JATOS type 127.0.0.1:9000 in your browser's address bar' is alread…

Hi, I have no experience with Freenom. I'm just surprised that they offer domains for free - usually this costs money (but not a lot). I found this question on Quora about their legitimacy: https://www.quora.com/Is-Freenom-a-fraudulent-company-I-reg…

Hi! Just tried it with cortex.jatos.org which is also on DigitalOcean and it worked: root@docker-s-1vcpu-1gb-fra1-01:~# docker ps CONTAINER ID IMAGE COMMAND CREATED STATUS PORTS …

I had to edit my previous answer: both config fields have the prefix jatos: jatos.resultUploads.maxFileSize and jatos.resultUploads.limitPerStudyRun
-
Hi! You are correct, the size for file uploads is limited in JATOS. By default those values are 30 MB for one file and 50 MB for all files in one study run. # Max file size jatos.resultUploads.maxFileSize = 30MB # Limit of all files per study run j…

Hi Ethan, I'm tempted to say: "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" :D Okay, this can have many reasons. What comes to my mind (don't feel offended if they are too obvious): Did you forward JATOS port 9000 to the standard HTTP port…
-
Hi! I'm not sure I understand your setup. You most likely need either JATOS or PHP scripts and not both. If you just want to send your experiment's result data to a server for safe keeping, both a valid ways. Unfortunately I have no clue about PHP. …
-
Hi Chi, The error you get originates from JATOS not being able to open a WebSocket for the batch session. Do you use a proxy like Apache or Nginx in front of JATOS? You have to configure it to allow WebSockets and forward them to JATOS. Have a look …
-
Hi! The error in the file I export when the experiment is completed (.txt file) aparently is because the experiment uses a php script to send the data back to the server after every trial. I'm confused: do you still use a PHP script or did you moved…

Hi Silke, The first question is easy to answer: JATOS experiments run in the browser and are like any other webpage not downloaded. The second question is more complex. For a small research group like you describe with small experiments a server wit…

Hi! Can you please give us a bit more information so we can help you better: What is the version of your JATOS? What kind of error do you get? Where do you see those errors (Browser Dev Tools, JATOS, JATOS' logs)? Is there some error message you can…
-
Hi Chi, The Apache setup is out of scope for this forum, but I can give you some short hints anyway: Try the easier setup on DigitalOcean: http://www.jatos.org/JATOS-on-DigitalOcean.html Have a look in Apache's log /var/log/apache/access.log Try Ngi…

Hi Afke, You said already that you JATOS' version is 3.5.4. Is this the version of your local AND your remote JATOS (your server JATOS)? I'm asking this because this problem is typical for a problem OpenSesame and JATOS had in previous version. The …
