[solved] font-size

edited June 2012 in OpenSesame

Hi Sebastiaan,

after using OpenSesame 0.25 (Windows XP) for a while I'm really impressed how much faster 0.26 works!!

However, after updating to 0.26 I have trouble with the font-size on the sketchpads. I opened an experiment that I created with 0.25 and now the textlines are smaller (18pt, I guess) than created (42pt). In the sketchpad-script it still says 42pt, but when I run the experiment the text is much smaller.
When I change the font-sizes I can see the changes on the sketchpad-tab but not when I run the experiment. (The same problem occurs with font-family. Changing the font color works fine.)
I later "downdated" again to 0.25 and everything works fine now.

Is there anything new/different in 0.26 in terms of the sketchpad? Are there only certain font-sizes allowed?
I really want to use 0.26 since it runs much faster, but right now I can only use version 0.25.

Thanks,
Theresia

    Hi Theresia,

    Good to hear!

No, there shouldn't be. What back-end are you using? I suspect that you are using the psycho back-end, which unfortunately doesn't support different font sizes and families at the moment (see this bug). However, this was the same for OpenSesame 0.25, so I'm not sure what could cause the difference between OpenSesame versions.

If you are experiencing this problem with the legacy back-end, please let me know. If you are using the psycho back-end than the issue is known, but you could consider writing a Python inline_script to present text. You can use the PsychoPy routines within OpenSesame to present text, but it's not as easy as the sketchpad: http://www.psychopy.org/api/visual/textstim.html.

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers,
    Sebastiaan

    Hi,

yes, I did use the psycho back-end. I've just changed it to Legacy and everything works fine now.

    Thanks a lot,
    Theresia
